1 · Case: capsule and grille

A microphone converts sound pressure into an electrical signal. [Evidence-Based Comparison]

Teaching view: The silver capsule has a dark grille and two terminals. It represents a microphone that turns sound pressure into an electrical signal.

2 · Board: rear terminal connections

The signal can support wake-word detection or speech recognition. [Evidence-Based Comparison]

Teaching view: A green board at the rear of the capsule carries the terminal connections and a dark electronics block. The microphone signal feeds the electronics used for audio sensing.

3 · Element: sensing area

Mounting, noise and signal processing affect microphone measurements. [Evidence-Based Comparison]

Teaching view: The blue and gold discs represent a capacitive microphone example: a flexible diaphragm beside a fixed plate. Sound pressure moves the diaphragm, changing the gap and the capacitance, or ability to store electric charge. With an electrical bias, that change produces a small electrical signal that follows the sound. The discs illustrate this mechanism rather than the construction of every microphone.

Explode separates the conceptual layers; X-ray makes the case translucent. External package dimensions follow the model specification; internal teaching geometry is conceptual, not to scale, and is not manufacturer CAD or a wiring diagram.
