Four-week family weather project
Start this optional four-week path with your teacher. Use a simulated station; no equipment or home measurements are needed. You can skip it without penalty.
Talk about one reading each week at home or in class. Nothing is collected or sent back. Any notes stay on your paper.
Open the simulated Wokwi temperature and humidity station for the circuit files and step-by-step launch instructions.
Week 1: Meet the simulated station
Open the DHT22 lab below. Predict the temperature, then run the simulation and compare its serial reading with your prediction.
Sample temperatures (°C): 14, 14, 14. Illustrative values; use these if you cannot run the simulator.
Week 2: Look for variation
Use the Wokwi sensor controls to change temperature. Take three readings with the setting held steady, then change it. Which changes come from your input?
Sample temperatures (°C): 13.8, 14, 14.2. Illustrative values; use these if you cannot run the simulator.
Week 3: Compare conditions
Change the simulated temperature and humidity one at a time. Explain which value changes. Discuss how light or moisture could affect an outdoor station.
Sample temperatures (°C): 14, 16, 18. Illustrative values; use these if you cannot run the simulator.
Week 4: Explain the evidence
Compare the sample sets from all four weeks. Explain sensing, variation and one limit of simulation to someone at home or in class. Keep any notes on paper.
Sample temperatures (°C): 15, 14, 16. Illustrative values; use these if you cannot run the simulator.
